About us Staff Amy Hudson Provide one to one support to young people Provide a safe and confidential environment for young people to discuss their eating disorders Facilitate young person's support groups Deliver Body Image Awareness within Schools/Community To raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders Promote awareness of First Steps and the services they provide Amy started volunteering at First Steps in 2014 at the young person's support group and then as an online befriender. Amy is an 'expert by experience' in eating disorders and is passionate about raising awareness and reducing the stigma around eating disorders. Amy has a masters degree in Mental Health Nursing. As part of her degree she did placements in a range of mental health settings, which has given her experience of working with people who have a variety of mental health illnesses. Amy promoted awareness of eating disorders during her degree and her dissertation explored recovery rates in anorexia nervosa. Amy enjoys working with young people and has experience of this from volunteering at First Steps, doing placements during her degree and through being a swimming teacher. Amy is excited to start her new role at First Steps and be part of such a great team.
