Kevin Parkinson is Trustee with portfolio for strategy and business development and joined the board in 2015.

An experienced joint commissioner and performance management leader, Kevin has worked across a range of sectors since leaving the armed forces in 1998 as an engineer and has developed a wealth of experience in adult skills and employment, housing and regeneration, health and care working for both commissioning and provider organisations.

Elected to local government in 2006, Kevin held cabinet portfolio responsibilities with Derbyshire County Council and Amber Valley Borough Councils until 2014 as a Councillor and Corporate Parent representing his electorate working across all four tiers of local government and with Government departments through MP's and Ministers of State.

He equally achieved excellent Business Development results, including securing significant UK/EU structural funds and is particularly proud of delivering over £40m fiscal benefits leading to new apprenticeships and jobs created to his constituency whilst elected to local government. 

Kevin keeps up to date on a range of government departments policy and strategy and keeps the board of trustees appraised to ensure that the skills and talent of the trustee board ensures First Steps ED remains at the forefront of eating disorders service design and support to our community and stakeholders.
