Rob Smith Key Accountabilities To represent the organisation as the first point of contact for a large number of service users, including booking and carrying out initial 1:1 meetings. Ensuring a smooth transition for service users by organising their involvement with the various services which are offered. Marketing and promoting First Steps by designing and distributing weekly newsletters, and being involved in the development of the website. Handle statistical information in the form of quarterly reports to assess the effectiveness of services offered by First Steps. To raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders and reduce stigma and discrimination. In addition through a voluntary position: To provide one to one therapy sessions with service users wishing to access counselling. Rob first came to First Steps in September 2017, as a placement student for his MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. He has an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology with Business Management, with his final year dissertation revolving around the addictive nature of Social Media and its impact on wellbeing. Rob began working for First Steps in November 2018 as Administrator. Currently training to be a Psychotherapist, he has had experience providing one to one counselling sessions in his university placement with First Steps, and through this has thoroughly developed his knowledge and passion toward the understanding and support of those struggling with eating disorders.
